About Project
Synenco partnered with Siemens Gamesa to develop a large-scale wind farm in Morocco, located near the city of Essaouira. This project aimed to harness the region’s strong wind resources to produce clean, renewable energy while integrating advanced automation systems for efficient energy management and distribution.
The wind farm is designed to generate 300 MW of electricity, enough to power over 200,000 homes annually. Synenco’s expertise in automation and control systems played a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of this renewable energy initiative.
Our Client’s Challenge
Siemens Gamesa faced the challenge of scaling up renewable energy production in Morocco while maintaining cost efficiency and adhering to strict environmental regulations. The project required advanced technology to optimize turbine performance, manage energy storage, and ensure reliable grid integration.
Our Approach And Solution
Synenco developed a comprehensive solution that included:
- Smart Turbine Control Systems: Implemented advanced SCADA systems for real-time monitoring and optimization of turbine operations.
- Energy Storage Integration: Designed battery storage solutions to store excess energy during peak production periods for use during low wind conditions.
- Grid Connection Optimization: Ensured seamless integration with Morocco's national grid using predictive load balancing algorithms.
- Environmental Monitoring: Installed IoT-enabled sensors to monitor environmental impact and ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Training Programs: Provided technical training for local engineers to operate and maintain the automated systems efficiently.

Results:
The $25 million project was completed within 18 months, on schedule and under budget. The wind farm now generates 300 MW of clean energy annually, reducing CO2 emissions by 500,000 tons per year and contributing significantly to Morocco’s renewable energy goals.
